Retro styled Vaseegara

I bet there isn't one person who hasn't heard at least one of these songs - Vaseegara, Manohara or Zara Zara. It's undoubtedly one of the best melodies of the decade and all credit to Harris. It was his first movie and he created one of his finest numbers ever. Bombay Jayashree sang all three versions in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. A friend of mine, Dhru sent me this 'Vaseegara- Returned' mp3 long long ago in 2007. Looking at the title I expected it to be a fast paced remix version of the original one.In contrast, it turned out to be a retro styled Vaseegara. I've been trying to trace the singer ever since then but couldn't get any information about the source or the singer. Today I happened to stumble upon a youtube video about a tamil music program called 'Sokkuthe Manam'. Someone tell what it means. I guess this program is about taking new songs and singing them in retro style. I'm guessing the singers themselves compose the new tune. If that's the thing, then I should say this lady whoever composed retro-vaseegara did an awesome job ! She must surely be a trained Carnatic singer, else she wouldn't be able to compose the swaras and everything so perfectly. Whatever, i'm glad I found the source today :D. Listen to it and leave your comments :)
